Fry day fun day.
Fry day fun day.
It’s Friday, (Fry Day?) and that means one thing, it’s time for some fuzz! Join us, as we say goodbye to clean tone and dive into the world of the wild and wooly. Let’s go!
0:00 - 0:14 bypass
Before we get into the fuzz, let’s check our bypass tone. For this first riff we’ll be using the bridge humbucker of our trusty Fender Strat.
0:15 - 1:02 Controllable chaos.
Now let’s hear it with Frybread! With the fuzz control set to around eleven o’clock we get a thick and raucous distortion with tons of mids, while also maintaining a super low noise. This allows you to play complex rhythms and hard stops without a bunch of distracting noise.
1:03 - 1:18 bypass
For this next section we’ll play a palm muted riff to get our chug on. Like the first example, this riff also uses the bridge humucker.
1:19 - 1:57 Chug! Chug!
Let’s add Frybread, but this time let’s open up the tone control and add more gain. The result is a wooly power amp-style distortion with tons of low end that also provides enough top end to maintain excellent clarity for chords.
1:58 - 2:14 bypass
Now that we’ve heard Frybread Fuzz on chords, let’s check out a lead line with some sustained single notes.
2:15 - 2:56 Raggedy riffage.
For this example, let’s pull the tone back a little, but leave volume and gain where they were. This setting is great for single note lines, accentuating your pick attack while also adding rich sustain to the end of each note.
Let’s make some noise!
Now that we’ve explored the possible, let’s go and create the impossible. Visit here for Frybread Fuzz.
