War Pony - BLACK SPARKLE.

New look, new tone.

War Pony is our overdrive/distortion pedal with no boundaries—just a fully unapologetic tone monster. It's back for the attack with a subtle yet effective upgrade to its internal hardware. Now integrated with our Hybrid TRI-LED clipping circuit, this black and sparkly stallion lets you RIFF IN PEACE.

TLDR - Who and what is BLACK SPARKLE War Pony for?

For those who need a broader gain range with a focus on low-mid content, all while delivering a distortion tone that's smooth, dynamic, and fiercely aggressive.

War Pony - an extension of the warrior.

The term “War Pony” is in reference to the warrior’s beloved war horse. In Native American culture, the horse was an extension of the warrior. The warrior would proudly ride their War Pony into battle, earning them approval and prominence within the tribe. The War Pony would often be painted with the same pattern and colors that the warrior used in battle, and it was through these markings the story of the warrior was told.

War Pony’s baseline tone.

War Pony started off as our War Party circuit, but it's transformed into an absolute beast of a tone machine. In the move from War Party to War Pony, we totally revamped the clipping structure and high-pass filtering in the gain circuitry to open up even more room for creativity. The best way to think about it? It's like flinging open the gates of tone and letting your tone horse run wild, with no boundaries holding it back.

So, how does War Pony’s gain structure sound?

  • Additional headroom for low frequency content. The low frequencies retain their structure through all levels of gain, making this pedal perfect for all bass lovers and guitarist who don’t mind thick tone.

  • No bacon sizzle. No annoying bacon sizzle sound when you push the pedal to towards the higher gain range, only smooth and elegant tone that’s a little rageful.

  • High-end clarity. Every single note can be heard at all stages of gain so whether your slinging jangly tunes or throwing down the D-stortion, individual notes maintain maximum clarity when met with complex chording.

Now to the updated Hybrid TRI-LED clipping circuit.

I'm not going to bore you with the nerdy details because, at the end of the day, we're musicians. So, I'll cut to the chase: we made a few subtle tweaks under the hood to keep the tone party going strong.

Here's what the hardware upgrades will give you:

More robust low/high gain. The low and high gain tones feel a lot fuller now. You'll definitely notice this tweak—it adds that extra “umph”!

Slight bump in the low mids. The best way to describe this is that it adds some body to your power chords and lower-end riffs.

Smoother harmonics. You’ll notice that the highs in the distortion continue to help keep the sizzle in check, resulting in a smoother gain response, especially when you crank up the gain.

Increased dynamics. More headroom means more range to play with. You can play softly or lower the volume for a smooth overdrive sound, or dig in for a loud, aggressive distortion—it's like having two pedals in one!

A big thank you.

Our mission is to share Native culture through sound and having the opportunity to do so while also inspiring musicians like you is such an honor. We truly appreciate all the love and support from our NativeAudio family. So, thank youuuuuuuu!!!!

Much love.
