Phasing out bad tone.
Don’t settle for boring tone.
You can only create to the degree that you’re inspired and bland guitar tone does little to help get the creative juices flowing. So what’s the answer? Well, with a little help from Makoyii and Midnight we can turn our humble bypass tone into a swirling, harmonically rich, fire breathing monster.
From modest to the hottest.
The first step in jazzing up our sound is to add some thick and wooly drive from Makoyii. With the gain around 2 o’clock, you get what we refer to as “edge of fuzz” tone that responds to your playing dynamics while maintaining a low noise floor. If you’ve struggled to find a fuzz that doesn’t kill the feel of your playing, you owe it to yourself to plug into Makoyii.
Don’t wait, modulate.
Now that we have a beautiful, touch sensetive drive let’s add some modulation from the Midnight to really put this sound over the top. Setting the mix control to 9 o’clock, we achieve a mild phasing effect, similar in sound to a rotary speaker. This combination instantly sounds so classic! If you’re a fan of Hendrix or Trower don’t pass up this dynamic duo!
Let’s make some noise.
Now that we’ve explored the possible, let’s go and create the impossible. Visit here for Makoyii and here for Midnight.
