The prowl.

We’re always on the hunt for tone. It’s an endless search for the right sound at the right time. Nothing ever seems to satisfy our natural tonal instincts which usually leaves us in an endless pursuit of always chasing the dream. Today, we’re here to challenge you to think differently. Like a wolf on the prowl, the Makoyii Overdrive/Distortion is ready attack. Dynamics are key when on the hunt for tone and like the wolf striking its prey, Makoyii’s dirt tone is quick to bite.

The growl.

Makoyii is an overdrive/distortion pedal with adaptable compression set to deliver sustained cleans, tight crunch, and woolly distortion. It can be subtle when you want it to but don’t let your guard down, it can be fierce. Going from prowl to growl, the Makoyii delivers spanky grit to edge-of-fuzz tones. It’s truly an all-in-one dirt box and we’ll dive into these tones next.

A short bit about the vid.

We start off with our classic bypass tone by using a Fender Duo Sonic through a Fender Deluxe Reverb. We’ll keep things on the neck pickup during this entire clip and settings won’t be adjusted. Like our past videos, we’ll simply use the dynamics in our playing to take us from a clean compression to a crunchy and hard-hitting punch. If you want the gain light, play light. If you want gain to go insane, dig in and let Makoyii do it’s thang. Enjoy.
