Subtly sweet.
Subtle.
Dim the lights, lower the gain, and dial back the crunch. We’re going to keep things simple this week with Kiaayo and Buffalo days. We’ll have a small taste of Kiaayo’s crunch and top it off with a little space created from Buffalo Days. You’ll notice little bit of chording and we might throw in a lick or two, but we hope to capture the subtle yet sweet dynamics of both Kiaayo and Buffalo Days.
0:00 - 0:12 Bypass tone.
We’re playing a Fender Duo Sonic with a single-coil pickup in the neck. All tones are played through a Fender Deluxe that’s set to a clean level.
0:13 - 0:28 Crunch wrap.
There are times when you need something creamy and something that adds a touch of breakup. Kiaayo does a phenomenal job at reaching this exact tone. We’ll play a couple chords, initially keeping things light. You’ll notice how the Kiaayo has enough room to breathe.
0:29 - 0:51 S p a c e can be spicy.
Speaking of room, let’s give Kiaayo space to stretch with the room reverb provided from Buffalo Days. Room reverb is perfect for showcasing the subtle tones because it’s not too dramatic and you won’t lose yourself in the trails of the verb.
0:52 - 1:53 Subtly sweet.
Time to bring it all together. One of the coolest experiences with Kiaayo is how its ready to roar when we dig in with more aggression. So much dynamic character that we almost have the benefits of two overdrive pedals simply based on our pick attack. Add the room reverb in and you’re ready to jump into any music situation.
Let’s make some noise.
Now that we’ve explored the possible, let’s go and create the impossible. Visit here for Buffalo Days and here for Kiaayo.
