Add some space to your bass.

Bass tone shouldn’t be boring.

Today, we are showing the bass some love and running it through the Mint Drive and Ghost Ridge to warm up the tone and add some space . . space . . space.

0:00 - 0:29 The bypass tone.

In this video we will be using the neck pickup of a Fender Mustang bass. It’s a great starting tone but we can make it a lot more interesting.

0:30 - 0:59 Giving the bass a little elbow room.

Here we bring in the Ghost Ridge on the hall mode and our bass line instantly becomes more impactful. This setting creates a soft cushion for your bass to float on top of and gives your tone some breathing room in a mix.

1:00 - 1:30 Adding some grit with the Mint Drive.

Now that we have a reverb setting we like, let’s add some drive to make the bass sound a little meaner. The Mint Drive does an excellent job of driving your signal without wrecking your low-end, making it a great choice if you’re looking to add some attitude to your bass.

1:31 - 2:00 Going off the deep end.

Lastly, we leave the Mint Drive engaged but switch to a more intense hall preset where both mix and depth settings are increased to achieve a massive reverb sound.

Let’s make some noise!

Now that we’ve explored the possible, let’s go and create the impossible. Visit here for Ghost Ridge and here for Mint Drive.
