Wolf Blood - Guitar

Something Special

We decided to do something special for the Limited Wolf Blood Makoyii. We restructured the gain circuit to feature LED clipping. The result provides a robust boost while maintaining an optional high gain distortion for both guitar and bass.

In this blog, we’ll explore the guitar tones by pushing an amp using Makoyii. Here’s a quick summary of what you’ll get with the Wolf Blood’s LED clipping:

  • Retained low-end

  • Additional headroom for low frequency content

  • High-end clarity

  • Full-spectrum compression

  • Chord articulation

  • Sharp and aggressive breakup

Bypass (0:00)

The Makoyii’s bypass is designed to optimize signal integrity with any cable length allowing for no tone loss while in bypass.

Always-On Tone with Some Grit (0:18)

Using the Makoyii as a robust boost to push the amp slightly into edge-of-breakup territory, this is the perfect setting for an always-on tone. The LED clipping allows the lows to creep in without breaking up, while the highs add a sparkling grit to the overall tone. At this stage, the Makoyii’s adaptable compression also breathes life into amp.

Same Grit, More Bass (0:36)

As we increase gain, the highs continue to saturate, and the lows begin to bloom. The magic here is that Makoyii amplifies our entire signal, but the low-end headroom we gain from the LED clipping manages to keep the lows from becoming a mess.

Beautiful Chaos (0:54)

We’re getting wild here. The gain is not at max but at this point, it’s beautiful chaos. The combination of Makoyii’s dirt and the pushed amp creates a unique texture. A texture that is chaotic in nature but could only be welcomed with the complex harmonics generated from the Makoyii-amp combo. Although the gain may be chaotic, the Makoyii’s beauty continues through its single note articulation.

Summary

If you’ve been searching for an overdrive/distortion that works seamlessly with guitar and bass, Wolf Blood Makoyii is a great option. It’ll retain your low end, add some sparkle to your highs, and provide you a range of dirt from boost to edge-of-fuzz distortion.

Let’s make some noise.
