Wolf Blood - Bass

Something Special

We decided to do something special for the Limited Wolf Blood Makoyii. We restructured the gain circuit to feature LED clipping. The result provides a robust boost while maintaining an option for high gain distortion for both guitar and bass. We’ll explore more of the bass tones but here’s a quick summary of what you’ll get with the Wolf Blood’s LED clipping:

-Retained low end

-Additional headroom for low frequency content

-High end clarity

-Full spectrum compression

Bass – Bypass

The Makoyii’s bypass is designed to optimize signal integrity with any cable length while allowing full-spectrum buffering, which is crucial for bass and the ability to maintain low end.

Bass – Low Gain

Lower gain settings retain low end while adding clarity to the highs. In combination with the LED clipping, the Makoyii offers even more headroom in this range. The overall signal is tightened with a little compression provided by the Makoyii’s adaptable compression.

Bass – Medium Gain

Okay, this is where the magic really starts to become apparent. The LED clipping at this point allows the low end to come through cleaner, while starting to distort the highs.

Bass – High Gain

Finally, chaos meets beauty. Both the lows and highs are clipped. You’ll notice that the lows still manage to keep their rumble. It’s the perfect solution for wanting your bass to still sound like bass but… a little wilder.

Summary

If you’ve been searching for an overdrive/distortion that works seamlessly with bass, Wolf Blood Makoyii is a great option. It’ll retain your low end and add some sparkle to your highs. Dirt for bass doesn’t mean sacrificing all the things you love about bass; it means further opening the doors to creativity.

Let’s make some noise.
