Walking the Presets - Pretty Bird Woman

Pretty Bird Woman Overview

Pretty Bird Woman was our first endeavor into the world of chorus and vibrato.

Inspired by the Boss CE-2 and VB-2, Pretty Bird Woman provides two modes: chorus and vibrato. The two modes each have an individual depth and rate range set to maximize the effect of the modulation. The chorus channel is also filtered to balance the high-end content, providing a smoother modulation (we hate when your chorus sounds like you’re chewing on aluminum). The Pretty Bird Woman also makes the complex simple, providing a practical approach to preset capability, so you spend more time playing and less time tweaking.

Today’s Adventure

Today we walk through the factory-loaded presets in Pretty Bird Woman. These presets have been finetuned by the NativeAudio team and do a great job at showing you what to expect from Pretty Bird Woman.

We decided to do a pairing today which includes the Wolf Blood Makoyii. We’re using Wolf Blood to slightly beef up our bypass signal while adding some compression to the overall tone.

Bypass (0:00)

The Makoyii and Pretty Bird Woman’s bypass is designed to optimize signal integrity with any cable length allowing for no tone loss while in bypass.

Signal Chain: Fender Duo sonic > Makoyii Wolf Blood > Pretty Bird Woman > Traynor TS-50B

Preset 1 – Soul (0:20)

Chorus mode: Higher depth and slower rate. A nice hello to the classic Boss CE-1 (yeah, the larger one).

Preset 2 – Classic (0:40)

Chorus mode: Everything at 12 o’clock. Your classic 80’s sound.

Preset 3 – Syrup (1:00)

Vibrato mode: Higher depth and slower rate. Imagine pouring some syrup over waffles.

Preset 4 – Shakin' (1:19)

Vibrato mode: Higher depth and faster rate. Get that signal shaking.

Let’s make some noise.
