Commodity Fuzz.

Your creative expression truly matters.

There's something raw and empowering about playing a pedal that speaks with unapologetic aggression. This isn't the kind of aggression that makes you turn it off—instead, it fuels your creativity, putting you in command of every note. In a world where many pedals try to overload you with too much at once, Commodity Fuzz takes a step back to focus on what truly matters: your creative expression.

Commodity Fuzz is about making something extraordinary out of nothing—a beautiful chaos, a controlled oxymoron that empowers you from the very first note. Today, with Commodity Fuzz, we celebrate creativity and resilience: two qualities that define not only the enduring spirit of the musician but also the heart of our Native community.

TLDR.

Who's it for? For musicians who want to unleash unapologetic aggression and transform their tone into something fierce and expressive. Perfect for players who want a fuzz that breaks all the rules - from placement flexibility to raw sonic goodness.

What's it for? Delivering a chaotic yet controllable octave fuzz that mangles, warps, and redefines your signal while maintaining musical clarity. Unlike traditional fuzzes, it sounds massive anywhere in your chain and brings transformer-free octave tones with plenty of volume on tap.

A tribute to resilience and creativity.

Commodity Fuzz isn't just a fuzzed octave chord mangler—it carries a deeply personal story rooted in our Native community. Commodity goods, for better or worse, are part of our everyday experience. They have a complex and dark history that predates the current Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

In the late 1800s, our buffalo—the mainstay of the Blackfeet's existence—disappeared due to the westernization of lands our ancestors once honored and respected. We were told we had to live on reservations if we wanted any form of help, forced to obey laws that clashed with our traditional ways of living. Attempts at farming and ranching were stifled by government regulations, leaving our people to rely on government aid for survival. Even today, these simple, monochromatic commodity foods remain a staple in many Native households.

Yet out of these unassuming goods came creative adaptations like frybread—symbols of the resourcefulness and resilience of our people. Growing up, I remember seeing these products in the pantry, and I wanted to give musicians a glimpse into one of the most iconic elements in the Native community: commodity foods. While they remind us of a dark past, they also stand as a testament to how what was meant to weaken us ultimately strengthened us.

That's why Commodity Fuzz is more than just a pedal—it's a celebration of the creativity and resilience that have always defined our Native communities.

Commodity Fuzz Back Lid Story

Out of simple comes a beautiful chaos.

The story of taking simple, humble ingredients and turning them into vibrant, delicious meals inspired every step of developing Commodity Fuzz. I wanted to provide a pedal that would be a feast for your amp and a meal for your ears—something that transforms three straightforward controls into a wild, expressive wall of sound, just like our ancestors turned basic goods into cherished staples. The result is an octave fuzz unlike any other: chaotic and abrasive yet super playable with a range of applications that make it the most beautifully aggressive tone machine we've created to date.

Fuzz that rips, clangs, and mangles.

Where our Frybread Fuzz leans into smooth, vintage vibes, Commodity Fuzz is built to be in-your-face—a pedal that doesn't just add tone, but completely redefines it. We kept our line super tight, ensuring each pedal has its own character. Commodity Fuzz is all about that sick, nargley attack, delivering a wide range of gain with tons of volume on tap. It takes these simple, raw tonal ingredients and transforms them into a fierce, warped sonic feast—truly a tone machine that rips and celebrates creativity and resilience.

  • Fuzzed-Out octave. The foundation of Commodity Fuzz—a clangy, bitey texture with sharp upper harmonics that sets the baseline for an in-your-face tone. This isn't your run-of-the-mill octave; it's a beast with a distinctive edge.

  • Chaotic and aggressive. Building on that solid octave, the pedal unleashes raw, abrasive tones that cut through the mix with unapologetic intensity. It's the sonic breakup that gives your sound its wild, untamed character.

  • Dissonant chord mangler. Adding the final layer, it warps complex chords into beautifully chaotic, distorted textures, delivering the flavor and depth that make every note a bold statement.

Commodity Fuzz By Cans Top

Breaking the "first in chain" myth.

You've probably heard it before: "Dude, that fuzz has to be first in the chain." We weren't buying it. While most fuzz makers are still pushing that old-school thinking, we took a different approach with Commodity Fuzz. We built in a set internal impedance right at the input of the fuzz circuit that does something pretty special - it lets your Commodity Fuzz sound exactly the same no matter where you put it in your signal chain.

What does this mean for you? Total freedom. Want to run it after your modulation pedals? Go for it. Before your delay? Absolutely. After that wild pitch shifter? You bet. Your tone stays consistent and fierce wherever you place it. No more rebuilding your board around your fuzz pedal - Commodity Fuzz adapts to you, not the other way around.

Under the hood.

Every Commodity Fuzz we create carries that same spirit of transformation. Each pedal is hand-biased to make sure your Commodity Fuzz has the biggest and most attack possible. This isn't just about making another pedal—it's about making sure each one has its own personality while staying true to that fierce Commodity Fuzz character. When you plug in, you're getting a pedal that's been tuned to be the most expressive beast it can be.

Most octave fuzzes use transformers because that's just how it's always been done. But that traditional approach comes with some real downsides—your signal gets choked out, leaving you cranking the volume just to get back to where you started. We went a different route. Our transformerless design gives your signal all the room it needs to breathe, with an integrated low-pass filter that shapes your octave tone into something smooth and musical, while still keeping that aggressive edge that defines Commodity Fuzz.

Think about it - every time you step on that footswitch, you're not just turning on some circuit. You're becoming part of a story about taking something simple and turning it into something extraordinary. And really, that's just the Commodity Fuzz way.

And that story? It's one we get to tell together.
