Bring the spring.
Spring tone made easy.
We're taking a deep dive into the spring mode of the Ghost Ridge multi-reverb. We'll show you just how easy it is to get that springy reverb tone without lugging around a huge spring tank or a bulky combo amp that usually comes with the pain of a spring tank.
Plus, we're adding a dash of minty goodness from the Mint Drive, giving our original signal some extra flavor and personality. So, let’s explore these awesome features and uncover a whole new world of sonic possibilities!
0:00 - 0:20 Seasoning our bypass tone.
Let's kick things off with a clean strat tone, rocking that neck pickup position to get those classic spanky tones. This tone is great and it’s like having a delicious pizza that's cooked to perfection, but hey, we can always sprinkle some extra spice on top and take our tone to the next level.
0:21 - 0:38 Add a dash of mint.
Now we kick on Mint Drive, and you instantly can hear the transformation in our signal. Our tone goes from sounding a bit thin and distant to suddenly gaining some serious body. The mids also get a nice push and the Mint Drive adds a touch of crunchy goodness.
Throughout this entire section, we make sure to preserve the distinct voice of our strat, ensuring that it doesn't get buried or lost in the midst of the overdrive. We want to retain that signature strat sound that we all know and love, while still adding that extra kick and grit to take it to the next level.
0:39 - 0:59 Bring the spring.
As we engage the spring mode, we instantly transport our guitar into a realm of spaciousness, opening up a whole new world of creativity. The addition of spring reverb breathes life into our sound, giving it depth, richness, and a captivating sense of classic 60’s ambience.
The final note on spring is that with some spring reverb algorithms, they lose the character of the springs when presented with dynamics. Our spring mode does a great job at reading the dynamics, so soft picking results in slight spring movement while a hard string dig will shake the springs into some dramatic movement.
Let’s make some noise!
