Today, we are getting weirdly wiggly and fiercely fuzzy with Aakii and Frybread Fuzz. Come along as we cook up some seriously swirled sounds with this excellent effect combination.

The following examples are played through the neck position of our trusty Fender Duo-Sonic with a brief demonstration of the bypass tone at the beginning of each section.

0:00 - 0:14 Bypass.

We begin with a quick sample of our clean tone.

0:15 - 0:29 We got the fix for those luscious licks.

Now that we’ve heard the bypass signal let’s get some slow, syrupy chorus going. With the rate control set to minimum and the depth control set to max, we get a warm and lush chorus. If you want it more 80’s, you’ll have to bust out the Aqua Net.

0:30 - 0:59 Power amp push with deep chorus.

Next, let’s add in some grit from Frybread Fuzz to kick things up a notch. In this example we are only using a small amount of Frybread Fuzz’s available gain, but the resulting tone is reminiscent of cranking a clean amp until it starts to break up naturally.

1:00 - 1:17 Bypass.

Let’s check the bypass tone again with a different style riff.

1:18 - 1:36 Violent vibrato.

Typically, I lean towards slow and subtle vibrato tones, but for this example let’s try something a little stranger. We’ll dial in a moderate rate and depth to exaggerate the vibrato effect.

1:37 - 1:56 Unique lead tones.

Bringing Frybread Fuzz into the equation and using a bit more gain, we achieve a bizarrely beautiful lead tone that will shine through even the densest mixes.

1:57 - 2:12 Bypass.

Let’s hear the bypass signal one more time before checking out the last example of Aakii and Frybread Fuzz.

2:13 - 2:29 Seasick swirling.

With the mix control now set closer to the middle, we get a different flavor of chorus. We’ve dialed in a medium rate for this last example to have a bit more movement and warble than the first example.

2:30 - 3:08 Fuzz in motion.

Lastly, let’s add Frybread Fuzz and ride this warbly wave all the way home. Pushing the already deeply modulated tone further with Frybread Fuzz adds some focus to the mids, while accentuating the chorus effect to make it more prominent.

Let’s make some noise!

Now that we’ve explored the possible, let’s go and create the impossible. Visit here for Aakii and here for Frybread Fuzz.
